FTASE – Historical Record of the Cold War in Italy An independent archive by the FTASE group, dedicated to the men, places, and history of FTASE A historical memory project, not an official website affiliated with NATO or the Armed Forces Group affiliated with the cultural association "Le Botteghe d'Italia"
Safeguarding memory, telling a story
For decades, in the silence of the hills and operational bases, people and structures were part of a key defensive system during the Cold War.
This project was created to recount and preserve the history of the
Allied Land Forces Southern Europe, through first-hand accounts,
documents, photographs, and real locations.
This is not an official website.
It is an independent space, created by those who lived that history
or chose to preserve it.

Testimonials from Military Personnel
"My experience in FTASE was fundamental for my growth as an individual and as a soldier. I learned the value of discipline and teamwork, and I made friends with people from different parts of the world. I am proud to have been part of this Southern European allied force."
Mario, former FTASE soldier."
Mario Rossi
"The FTASE was my second family during my military service. I went through difficult and intense times, but also many moments of joy and friendship with my fellow soldiers. What struck me the most was the great solidarity and sense of belonging that could be felt within the force."
